About Me
Work Hard • Play Hard
I’ve been doing creative design and marketing for nearly three decades. I pride myself in never missing deadlines. I work really hard so that I can play even harder. Here is a little personal information about me.
How It All Began
I was born in San Diego, California. I’ve been an artist ever since I could hold a pencil. Creativity is in my blood. When I was six years old, I drew a picture of a Native American. On the back of the piece of paper, I drew the back view. My Grandparents had it hanging on their fridge for years. When I was in high school, I wasn’t the popular kid, but everyone knew me because of my art. When I graduated, I won several awards and scholarships.
In college, I studied fine art, art history, typography, color theory, life drawing, graphic design and animation. Later, I studied 3D animation and character animation and even became certified in Autodesk Maya (it was actually owned by Alias at the time) at Studio Arts near Hollywood, California. I was trained by animators from Disney and Warner Brothers who worked in feature films.
My Happy Place(s)
Hiking
The Great Outdoors
There is no better way to clear the mind and be at peace than out in nature. Hiking is a great way to relieve stress, but I also find Mother Nature very inspiring. Our dogs love it too!
Kayaking
I call it water therapy
Several years ago, I rented a kayak to see what it’s like. I instantly fell in love! Now I have my own kayak. There is nothing more therapeudic than being out on the water. Sometimes I even catch a fish!
Star Wars
Nerd Alert!!!
Anyone who knows me will can attest to this… I am a Star Wars nerd to the core. When I saw the first movie in 1977, it changed my life. I have a very large collection in my man cave.
Riding My ATV
Got Sand or Dirt?
I’ve been into ATV’s since I was a kid. I currently own a Yamaha Raptor 660, but someday I plan on upgrading to something that’s less abusive to my bones (I’m not getting any younger!).
Video Games
Duty Calls!
I have been into video games since the early days of Pong! I went through a ton of quarters when I was a kid. Now I escape with a Playstation 5 console.
Music
Ear Therapy
I love listening to music, especially when I’m working. I cannot imagine life without it! We have a huge library and I’ve been to literally hundreds of concerts.
Movies
Bring on the popcorn!
I’ve always loved movies from serious to science fiction. Sometimes they inspire me and sometimes I cry. I’m also an audiophile and home theater geek.
Animals
Who needs people?
I’ve had pets all of my life. From cuddly to exotic. My wife and I have had many pets over the years. We currently have two dogs, a cat, a tortoise and a fish tank.
